Reacco Pty Ltd (ABN 20 689 875 376) ("Reacco", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What information we collect
- Contact details — name, business name, email address, phone number and postal address.
- Financial and taxation information necessary to provide accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and taxation services, including tax file numbers, ABNs, bank transaction data, payroll records and ATO correspondence.
- Information collected automatically when you visit this website, such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referring website.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you — through our website forms, email, telephone, meetings and engagement documentation — and, where you have authorised us to do so, from third parties such as the Australian Taxation Office, your previous accountant, your bank feeds and your accounting software provider.
Why we collect it
We use your information to provide accounting, taxation, payroll, bookkeeping and advisory services; to meet our obligations as a registered BAS agent and as a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand; to communicate with you; and to comply with Australian law, including anti-money-laundering and record-keeping obligations.
Tax file numbers
Tax file numbers are handled in accordance with the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015. We collect them only where authorised by taxation law, use them only for the purpose for which they were collected, and do not disclose them except as required or permitted by law.
Disclosure
We may disclose your information to the Australian Taxation Office, ASIC, the Tax Practitioners Board, your nominated advisers, and to cloud software providers we use to deliver our services (including accounting, document-signing and secure file-transfer platforms). Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Storage and security
We store information in secure, access-controlled cloud systems and retain client records for at least five years after the completion of an engagement, or longer where required by law. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Cookies and website analytics
This website may use cookies and third-party analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not function as intended if you do.
Accessing or correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing accounts@reacco.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period. There is no fee for making a request, though we may charge for the reasonable cost of providing access in some circumstances.
